MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION OF THE BHARATIYA ADIM JATI SEVAK SANGH

THIS ASSOCIATION SHALL BE KNOWN AS “BHARATIYA ADIM JATI SEVAK SANGH” (ASSOCIATION FOR THE SERVICE OF PRIMITIVE TRIBES IN INDIA) WITH ITS HEADQUARTERS IN DELHI

THE OBJECTS OF THE SANGH SHALL BE TO WORK FOR SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL AND HEALTH ADVANCEMENT OF THE ADIM JATI (PRIMITIVE AND ABORIGINAL TRIBES AND OTHER WEAKER SECTION OF THE SOCIETY) IN INDIA WITH A VIEW TO ENABLE THEM TO TAKE THEIR LEGITIMATE PLACE IN THE NATIONAL LIFE OF THE COUNTRY AS EQUAL CITIZENS AND THESE OBJECTS SHALL BE ATTAINED BY: RECOGNIZING AND AFFILIATING SUCH INSTITUTIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS AS HAVE SIMILAR OBJECTIVES AS THOSE OF THE SANGH AND DESIRE AFFILIATION.
CO-ORDINATION THE WORK OF THE AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS AND ASSOCIATION THROUGH ADVICE AND GUIDANCE AND HELP FINANCIALLY AND OTHERWISE;

ESTABLISHING CENTRES FOR ALL ROUND AMELIORATION OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES IN THE INDIAN UNION WHEREVER NECESSARY;
STARTING CENTRES FOR TRAINING OF WORKERS FOR SOCIAL AND OTHER WORK AMONG THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES;
ORGANIZING AND ENCOURAGING RESEARCH IN ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES;
MAKING REPRESENTATIONS TO GOVERNMENT OF THE INDIAN UNION AND STATES AND OTHER PUBLIC BODIES AND INDIVIDUALS ON THE PROBLEMS OF THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITION AND REMOVE THEIR DISABILITIES;
COLLECTING DONATIONS AND RAISING FUNDS BY BORROWING LOANS OR OTHERWISE TO THE SANGH AND ITS ACTIVITIES, ACQUIRING MOVABLE AND IMMOVABLE PROPERTY BY PURCHASE OR LEASE OR OTHERWISE, SELLING OR LEASING OR MORTGAGING IT, WHENEVER NECESSARY, AND CONDUCTING OR ENTERING INTO OTHER LEGAL AND FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS FOR PROMOTING THE OBJECTS OF THE SANGH;
OPENING AND MAINTAINING LIBRARIES AND READING ROOMS FOR GENERAL USE AMONG THE MEMBERS OR OPEN TO PUBLIC;
ADOPTING ALL SUCH MEANS AND CONDUCTING SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES AS ARE CONDUCIVE TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE OBJECTS OF THE SANGH;
ESTABLISHING CENTRES FOR ALL ROUND AMELIORATION OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES / ABORIGINAL TRIBES IN INDIAN UNION WHEREVER NECESSARY AS REFERRED TO ARTICLE – 2. PARA (C).
STARTING CENTRES FOR TRAINING OF WORKERS FOR SOCIAL AND ANY OTHER LEGITIMATE WORK AMONG THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES/ ABORIGINAL TRIBES REFERRED TO ARTICLE -2, PARA (D).
ORGANIZING AND ENCOURAGING RESEARCH IN ANTHROPOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE PRIMITIVE TRIBES / ABORIGINAL TRIBES AS REFERRED TO ARTICLE-2, PARA (E).
SUBMIT FRESH / NEW AND RENEWAL OF ONGOING PROJECT PROPOSALS TO THE DIFFERENT MINISTRIES OF GOVT. OF INDIA, STATE GOVTS. DEPARTMENTS, BOARD, CORPORATIONS / COMPANIES / FIRMS AND DONOR AGENCIES ON BEHALF OF THE AFFILIATED / RECOGNISED INSTITUTIONS, BAJSS AS PER ARTICLE-2, PARA (A) AND FOR DIRECT MANAGED BRANCHES AS PER THE MEMORANDUM ARTICLE-2, PARA (C) ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.
APPLY FOR GRANT-IN-AID / FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ITS REGISTERED INSTITUTIONS / BRANCHES REFERRED TO THE MEMORANDUM UNDER ARTICLE -2 PARA (A) & (C).
RECEIVE AND DEPOSIT THE GRANT-IN-AID SANCTIONED AND RELEASED BY THE GRANT GIVING AGENCIES REFERRED IN RULE – 15, (A & B).
DISBURSEMENT / REMITTANCES OF GRANT-IN-AID AS THE PARENT BODY TO ITS INSTITUTIONS REFERRED IN ARTICLE-2, PARA (A), (B) & (C) FOR THE SCHEMES AND PROGRAMMES ALLOTTED TO THEM IN CASE OF GRANT-IN-AID RECEIVED.
EXAMINE AND SCRUTINIZE THE MONTHLY / QUARTERLY /HALF YEARLY/ ANNUAL PROGRESS REPORTS SUBMITTED BY ITS INSTITUTIONS REFERRED ABOVE AS PER RULE 17(1).
GUIDE THE BAJSS INSTITUTIONS IN ACCOUNTING SYSTEM AND TO ASK FOR SUBMISSION OF ANNUAL AUDITED STATEMENTS OF ACCOUNTS IN COMPLETE FORM AS PER RULE-17, (3) AND TO SUBMIT CONSOLIDATED AUDITED STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS TO THE CONCERNED MINISTRIES / DEPTS. FROM WHERE GRANT-IN-AID IS RECEIVED.
CONDUCTING INSPECTION, EVALUATION, MONITORING OF THE SCHEMES / PROGRAMMES / PROJECTS RUN BY THE ABOVE INSTITUTION AS PER MEMORANDUM ARTICLE-2, PARAS (A) & (B).
PROVIDE TIME TO TIME GUIDANCE TO ITS INSTITUTIONS FOR FAIR AND EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF THE SCHEMES / PROGRAMMES ALLOTTED TO THEM AS PER MEMORANDUM ARTICLE-2, PARA (B).

The Vision

Bhartiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh is committed to promote the socio-cultural and economical development of the tribes, both nomadic and denotified, i.e. Vimukta, residing in the deserted faraway vicinities and isolated hamlets.

Farther, BAJSS is committed to safeguard the constitutional rights of the tribal communities with a view to enable them to take their legitimate share in the national life of the country as equal citizens.

History

Confined to the gracious motive, Late Sh. Amritlal Vithaldas Thakkar, popularly known as 'Thakkar Bapa', an eminent social worker and a close-aid of Mahatma Gandhi, had established the esteemed institution on October 24th, 1948 in Delhi. Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the First President of Independent India was designated as the proud Founder-President of BAJSS. The eminent leaders-Social Workers like Sh. U.N. Dhebar, Sh. Moraraji R. Desai, Dr. Smt. Phulrenu Guha and Sh. J. H. Chinchalkar had offered their valuable services to the supreme cause, i.e., The Cohesive Uplift of the Tribes of India.

The Key Areas

Since its inception, BAJSS is serving as a Mother Institution for many eminent institutions and branches. The institution had spun out the stronger network of the like-minded institutions and branches; BAJSS has spearheaded multi-dimensional humanitarian services to accomplish the objective in vital segments such as Education, Child-care, Eradication of Social Evils and Women Empowerment.

So far, with the 65 years of exemplary services in tribal welfare, BAJSS has transformed thousands of deprived families and also led them towards a better and prosperous future.

Institutional Stature

BAJSS has its own rock-solid structure. The constitution of BAJSS has always offered an enduring institutional foundation which is utmost pivotal to accomplish such an enormous multi-focal and multi-dimensional task on Pan-India level. With its vital components like General Council, Executive Committee and Life Member Cadre, BAJSS effectively coordinates its scores of activities.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME

Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh, Central Office, New Delhi has its legally constituted Branches in all over the country, which are running several programmes for the Social, Educational, and Economic advancement to achieve the Aims and objects of the organisation. BAJSS Branches has its local managing Committee having 07-15 members in each branches to manage the programmes run by the Institutions. Sanskar Nirman

Morning & Evening Prayers has been organised regularly for Moral, Devotional and life skill upliftment in the residential students. The prayers helped to maintain the discipline and a good character in the students of Residential Schools, Hostels, High Schools, Intermediate, Degree and Post Graduate Colleges.

PROGRAMME FOR WOMEN SUPPORT AND EMPOWERMENT

The Central office of BAJSS, New Delhi has supported to BAJSS Branches for running Swadhar Greh for the women, who are in distress. It has provided grant-in-aid from the Ministry of W & CD, Govt. of India, New Delhi. The Swadhar Greh Scheme is revised Under “Mission Shakti" and named Shakti Sadan from 1st April, 2022. Lodging & Boarding facilities

The Girls and Women, who are above 18 years and suffering from marital Maladjustment, Sexual exploitations, raped, ran away from home, rescued from the unsocial elements etc. are provided free shelter, food arrangements and Homely care for comfortable Staying.

HEALTH CARE AND TREATMENT FACILITIES

The Swadhar Greh has provided health care, medicines and proper treatment facilities to each inmates to maintain good health in homely atmosphere. The Services of qualified Doctors are available in the Swadhar Greh of BAJSS, Branches.

Literacy / Skill Development through vocational Training

The BAJSS Branches has provided vocational Training as Sewing & knitting, Embroidery Beautician, Arts & Crafts, Tribal Handi Crafts, painting etc. for self-employment and their empowerment. The inmates has been provided certificates of the Vocational Training by the Swadhar Greh (Shakti Sadan). The literacy classes is conducted to improve the literacy and basic knowledge of inmates.

Counselling and Rehabilitation

The Qualified and trained counsellors has been appointed in each Swadhar Grihs for counselling inmates to solved the problems in the right way for rehabilitating the inmates in the society. The legal support has also provided to the inmates for better rehabilitation.

Other Facilities

Proper clothings, bed and beddings, Books and Stationary has also been provided to the beneficiaries of Swadhar Greh for better lifestyle and tension free life in the home.
